IDEAS OR FINANCE, WHICH COMES FIRST?

If there is one thing I would remember about my present boss long after we part, it is the line he repeats nearly every day during staff meetings. It goes thus; "PREPARATION is the foundation of PARTICIPATION, participation is the mother of EXPECTATION and expectation is the mother of CELEBRATION".

It took me awhile to grasp the words but as soon as I did, I realised it contains a deep mine of wisdom especially for the younger ones. Many young people today blame their misfortune on the fact that no one is kind enough to help them attain their desired goal in life.

They blame the government, their parents, poverty and so on but never seem to see their own fault. The truth is we don't live in a perfect world so it's useless throwing a pity party about your situation instead of seeking for ways of making your life better.

It is shocking that many people even blame their skin colour or country of origin just to justify their claim on the reason behind their misfortune. Open your eyes and see those who came from the dust just like you!

I recently heard about a lady who complained that no one in her family can afford to pay for her education and that was why she settled for a menial job. She was lamenting to someone and seemed to really need help.
A good man felt sorry for her and  asked, "May I have a look at your O'LEVEL result"? She paused for a while and said she; "I didn't collect it from the school I attended because I had no money to pay for it". That sounds bad enough right?

Mr Goodman gave her some money and told her to go get the result and also ensure she sits for exams that would secure her admission into a university. He finally promised that he'll ensure her school fees are paid all through the period of her schooling.

The ending of this true story was that she never returned to him either with the O'LEVEL result or with an admission letter. She probably never passed her Senior Certificate exams and so wasn't prepared to get an education. It is sad to note however, that when opportunity arrived, she wasn't able to grab it.

It is good to have great ambitions or dreams. It is often said that if your dreams are not big enough to scare you they are probably not good enough. It therefore implies that if you want to achieve more in life, CHASE your DREAMS. Let the possibilities of where they can take you make you run with purpose everyday.

Imagine that every invention we enjoy today started with an idea that popped into someone's mind one day. Think of ELECTRICITYCOMPUTERS, INTERNET, FACEBOOK, etc. All of these couldn't have been possible if those men saw IMPOSSIBILITIES instead of POSSIBILITIES.

Finally friend, what are your plans for the next five years? What are you doing right now to achieve them? Are you one of those girls hoping to marry a successful man while you spend your time uploading pictures on every social media page? That wouldn't help you. You might end up a loser who has no life of your own.

Are you waiting for a better government to give you better opportunities?
Today is the most certain day you know, wake up and PREPARE FOR OPPORTUNITY!
